Dear Parents and Caregivers

You are warmly invited to Emmaus Christian College’s Annual Junior Primary Twilight Sports Meet. The Sports Meet will take place on the grassed oval next to the Junior Primary Playground. It will begin at 5.30pm and finish no later than 8.00pm. The evening will include a variety of activities and novelty races for the children. All children are expected to participate in this popular event and must be accompanied by a parent. Children are to wear their Sports Uniform (House Colour Polo) and must arrive in their classroom by 5.10pm. Year 2 Cheesman/Smith’s class will meet in the OSHC area.

Families are encouraged to bring a rug and picnic to enjoy on the lawn. Parent Representatives and helpers will be organising a sausage sizzle. Sausages will be purchased with an orange token and drinks with a blue token. Parents will be able to buy orange and blue tokens on the night, with CASH ONLY, anytime from 5.00pm onwards from the allocated ticket desk near the Year 1/2 classroom. We encourage parents to buy tokens as soon as they have dropped their children off at the classroom. Tokens may be exchanged for food at any time throughout the evening between 5.00pm and 7.00pm at parents’ convenience. Gluten free bread and sausages will be available. Children are encouraged to wait to eat until the end of events at ± 6.40pm. Please ensure your children have a wholesome snack after school prior to returning to the Junior Primary Twilight Sports Meet.

  • One sausage - $2 orange token Fruit box or bottle of water - $1 blue token

To assist the organisation and planning of the evening, we would appreciate if you could please indicate the number of sausages you estimate your family likely to purchase through TryBooking by Friday 18 October 2019. No payment is required online as the sausages will be paid for on the night. We appreciate your indication of quantities so we do not run out of food. The link for this online indication is in the accompanying email. There will also be a coffee van in attendance from 5.00pm until 7.00pm.

Efficient catering relies heavily on parent support. We would be grateful if parents could offer a small portion of time (20 minutes) to assist in one of the areas outlined in the Trybooking online order form.

Please note: if your child has a medical condition or food allergies which requires planning, supervision and monitoring, it is the responsibility of parents to oversee their child’s care needs during this event. As parents are responsible for their children, we will not have a staff member managing First Aid. A basic First Aid Kit will be available for parents to use during this time. If you have any concerns or questions, particularly regarding the food provided, please discuss this with your child’s teacher prior to this event.

We wish to remind parents that all staff will be busy supervising F-2 children. Siblings who wish to use the JP Playground must do so under the supervision of a parent.

The Junior Primary Twilight Sports Meet is always a special time for families. The support you show your child and their peers by encouraging and cheering them on as they compete in their events, and then after the sports, is much appreciated by the children and College staff.

We look forward to sharing with you a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship.

Kind regards
