EMMAUS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE|
RECEPTION TO YEAR 12 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Performing Arts Program
At Emmaus Christian College, we have a strong focus on the Performing Arts. Students are provided with excellent opportunities to experience the excitement and enjoyment of Music, Drama and Dance.
Music and Drama are offered through to SACE Stages 1 and 2, providing students with a variety of extra career paths from which they can choose. Dance has been introduced at Year 10 level and we anticipate that this will continue at higher year levels if there is sufficient demand.
Our vision for our Performing Arts program is to help our students be discerning in their choices, to develop God-given talents, to equip students to make a positive contribution to the ministry of their church, and to provide opportunities to develop skills for a vocation in these areas or for general interest.
The Primary curriculum includes music for all year levels. Other Primary School music program options are as follows:
Middle School and Senior School Program
Involvement in ensembles and bands are optional for Middle and Senior School students. Various co-curricular options are also available including:

SACE Stage 2 Units
Stage 2 music is designed to be undertaken in single units. Students may study up to 4 units. A full subject comprises 2 units. Units include:
Students are expected to regularly and consistently practice their chosen instrument (45 minutes to an hour per day) and it is a requirement for them to attend a half-hour instrumental lesson per week.
Instrumental tuition is available at the College during the school day. Instrumental teachers provide lessons to students individually, paired or in groups of 3. Lessons are rotated where possible so children do not miss the same subject weekly.
Individual lesson (30 minutes) $27.00 per student
Parents pay and liaise direct with the instrumental teacher regarding payments and student progress. Students experience a variety of music within their lessons and will receive a report on their progress each semester. Please refer to the General Information and Guidelines for full details of this program and the agreement between parents and the instrumental teachers.
Instrumental tuition lessons are available for a wide range of instruments including:
*Individual lessons are preferred for piano and drums.
