Brooklyn Park Campus opening 2020

We are excited to announce the opening of a second campus at Brooklyn Park that will provide an Early Learning Centre and Junior School for Foundation to Year 6.

Located at 34 Lipsett Terrace, the Brooklyn Park Campus will be an extension of the excellent standard of non-denominational, Christ-centred education already provided at South Plympton Campus.

From Term 1, 2020 we are offering enrolments for Early Learning through to Year 2.

Our new campus will continue to uphold the existing values, mission and vision of Emmaus Christian College. Governed and operated by the existing Board and Executive Leadership team we will ensure a consistent, authentically Christian and non-denominational approach to education.

Brooklyn Park Campus

Early Learning Centre

From commencement in January 2020, the ELC will open and offer enrolment for children aged 3 to 5 years old. The nationally adopted Early Years Learning Framework will be presented from a Christian worldview, enriched by embracing practices from Guided Play Based Learning, Reggio Emilia and Nature Play.

Junior School

From commencement in Term 1, 2020 enrolments will be offered for Foundation through to Year 2. We believe this staged development will create a community based environment where your child will be nurtured and supported. It will also allow each student to individually grow and learn as the school grows. The commencement of other year levels faster than the above growth plan would be considered based on demand.

All Brooklyn Park Campus students will have guaranteed access to the South Plympton Middle School at the conclusion of Year 6 at Brooklyn Park.

Applications for enrolments for Foundation to Year 2, 2020 and beyond are now open. Please submit one application form per child and use the sibling application form for subsequent children.

Class Sizes and Composition

We anticipate that class sizes and composition will be similar to our South Plympton Campus. This will include class sizes of between 25 and 28.

In 2020, students will be enrolled in either Foundation, Year 1 or Year 2. Other Year levels may be available if there is reasonable demand.

If you are planning on enrolling your child in Year 1 at Brooklyn Park, we would like to discuss with you the opportunity to enrol your child in our South Plympton Campus for one year, after which your child will be transferred to Brooklyn Park Year 1 class in 2020.

Transition to Middle School

Brooklyn Park Campus students are guaranteed a place in our Middle School located at South Plympton Campus from Year 7.

Tuition fees and charges will be consisted with the South Plympton Campus. We are pleased to offer a 10% discount off the Standard Tuition Fees for all families enrolled in 2020 and 5% discount in 2021. Sibling Concessions will continue to be offered across both campuses.

Our existing Head of Junior School, Helen Vonow will have oversight of the new Brooklyn Park Campus in the initial stages. As the campus grows, it is expected that a dedicated Head of Brooklyn Park Campus will be appointed and will form part of the College Executive Leadership Group.

Our existing Junior School staff will have opportunities to transfer to the Brooklyn Park Campus.

The College Uniform will be consistent across both campuses. Our Uniform Shop is located at our South Plympton campus. More information

At this stage, there are no plans for a bus service for Brooklyn Park Campus. However, we aim to support families where possible and will reconsider the provision of this service if there is demand.

An Outside School Hours Care program will be offered subject to demand.

Parent Community (Emmaus Connect Group)

Brooklyn Park families will have opportunities to be involved in the wider community through the Emmaus Connect Group and school community events.
